Prime Big Deal Days 2025: Everything We Know About Amazon’s October Sale

Everything you need to know ahead of the sales event.
The next major sale kicks off next week. Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event is set to begin on October 7 and run through October 8 this year with discounts exclusively available to Prime members. This is the fourth year in a row that Amazon has decided to have an October Prime Day and we here on the IGN Deals team have covered every single one. Although we don’t yet have all of the details about what deals to expect this year, we’ve done this enough times to make some educated guesses and pick out the best early deals while we do.

If you’re planning to do some shopping before November this year, Amazon’s two-day fall sale is certainly a good time to do so. But you shouldn’t expect that everything you are hoping to buy will be getting a discount. Prime Big Deal Days will definitely include some of the best deals of the year on many popular items, but Black Friday is still when we expect to see the biggest spread of discounts from every retailer.
Early Deals Are Live Now

Latest Update: Added the Silmarilion Collector’s Edition and the Luna controller bundle. Updated price predictions based on early deals in every category.

Amazon has already started dropping a ton of early deals ahead of the official sale dates. Our Senior Commerce Editor Rob Anderson has curated a list of some of the most notable discounts above. The 4K Blu-ray sale has been the most popular deal for our audience so far, with a lot of the movies selling out at those prices. Amazon has also launched a discount on its Audible service for new subscribers that is surprisingly good and many of the Amazon device deals have gone live as well. We’ll continue updating this page with new deals at they go live throughout the weekend.
What Deals to Expect

Amazon has released a sneak peek of some of the discounts that will be available during the sale, but the list doesn’t include actual prices. Based on this sneak peek, as well as our coverage of the sale from last year, we’ve outlined what discounts we expect to see in 2025 below.

Amazon Device Discounts
It’s pretty much a given that if Amazon is having a Prime-exclusive sale that there is going to be some sort of discount on Amazon devices. But since this isn’t Black Friday, not all Amazon devices are going to be on sale. According to the sneak peak, the biggest price drops will be on bundles. This apparently includes Luna controller and Fire TV bundles for up to 50% off, which is a fairly unique pairing similar to the Xbox Fire TV Stick bundle that has been popular in recent years. Surprisingly, the preview of deals seems to exclude Amazon Fire TV sticks altogether despite offering early deals on them already. You can also already shop some of the discounts on the Amazon Luna Controller, but the TV bundles Amazon mentioned haven’t gone live yet.
Outside of streaming, you can also expect to see Kindle deals again and many of those discounts are already here early. We saw some of the best deals on Kindle e-readers during Prime Day earlier this year and expect to see similar discounts this fall. This will likely be in the form of bundles, however, which could include a case or a wireless charger as a bonus. And like every sale, Amazon is already offering steep discounts on its Ring Video Doorbell bundles early. You can currently pick up one of those devices for under $50 ahead of the sale.

Toys and LEGO Sets
October is a surprisingly good time to buy LEGO sets and toys, depending on what it it is you’re looking for. This is a great time of year for Amazon to clear out its inventory of older toys ahead of the busy holiday season, likely to make room for popular new items. This means you can potentially find some really good deals on toys that are a few years old now.
Amazon’s sneak peak mentions up to 30% off LEGO sets and up to 40% off toys from Disney, Star Wars, and Wicked. The exact toys aren’t mentioned, but it’s almost guaranteed that it will be older releases getting these discounts. For LEGO that could mean sets that are already marked to be retired later this year.
In terms of what deals are already live, Amazon has started discounting Pokemon plushies and Mega Pokemon sets. And while there haven’t been too many LEGO deals, there is already a LEGO Star Wars discount on a popular 2025 set that is absoutely worth checking out. There are also still price cuts on the LEGO Advent Calendars that may go out of stock before the holidays.

Physical Media
Amazon has already stated that the sale will have discounts up to 65% on bestselling books this year, but we expect those savings will expand further into other areas of physical media. This has been a pretty consistent trend throughout this year where we’ve seen great discounts on books, 4K movies, CDs, and video games during every major sales event Amazon has had.
If Prime Big Deal Days is anything like Prime Day, then there will likely be some sort of “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” sale on top of the usual discounts. These types of promotions are one of the best times to buy Blu-rays, books, and occasionally board games all at once for a larger discount. Amazon has already started offering early deals on 4K UHD movies ahead of the event, and we expect more deals on physical media to arrive before the October 7 start date.

Apple AirPods, iPads, and Apple Watches
Although not mentioned on Amazon’s own sneak peek, it’s pretty much a given that Apple products are going to go on sale for this event. These devices have been discounted for pretty much every sales event this year and were also some of the bestselling items in 2024 as well. The only question is just how much they are going to be discounted.
The new Apple AirPods Pro 3 were just released, but Amazon has already discounted them once. It was only a $10 price cut, but it’s something we will likely see again during Prime Big Deal Days. You can also expect the AirPods Pro 2 to go on sale as well, maybe to the lowest price of the year. As for iPads, you can likely expect similar prices to Prime Day when we saw the latest models getting 20% discounts.
With the launch of the Apple Watch Series 11 last month, Prime Big Deal Days should also be the first time we start seeing some bigger discounts on previous generations of the Apple Watch. Even ahead of the event Amazon is already dropping prices on the Series 10. We expect more discounts to arrive when Walmart’s version of the sale kicks off too.

Trading Card Games
Trading card games like Pokemon and Magic the Gathering have absolutely taken off in 2025. There have been a ton of new releases in both and they are consistently some of the hottest items available online and in stores. Because of this, it’s not surprise that we expect them to be a focus during Prime Big Deal Days. Amazon has already started dropping deals on the new Spider-Man MTG bundles and Walmart has stated that it will have discounts on a Prismatic Evolotions Elite Trainer Bundle.

TVs and Gaming Monitors
According to the sneak peek, Amazon will be offering up to 40% off select LG and Hisense monitors and TVs. Although Black Friday is still probably the best time to buy a TV or monitor, we’ve definitely found some really good deals on both during past October Prime Days. But it really depends on what you’re looking for and what price point you’re willing to pay. Some of the best gaming monitors and 4K TVs are expensive, and the biggest discounts are likely going to be on the more expensive models like the LG C-series TVs. If you’re willing to pay $800 or more, you can likely find a really good deal. But that same discount will likely be there during Black Friday too.
Outside of LG and Hisense, we usually see discounts from Sony and Samsung as well. Last year there were some really good deals on the Samsung Odyssey line of monitors, but the price points were also quite high. Amazon will also have some pretty steep discounts on it’s own Fire TVs, including that Luna Controller bundle I mentioned above.

Video Games
Video game deals have been present in every major sale this year and October Prime Day isn’t going to break that trend. So while we know there will be video game deals this year, we don’t know exactly what games will be going on sale or how steep the discounts will be. With that in mind, what we will likely see are discounts similar to Steam’s Autumn Sale this year. These are slight discounts on popular games that drop the price 10-20%, and Amazon will likely do something just like that with physical games rather than digital.
The general rule of thumb is that Black Friday is still going to be the best time of year to find deals on video games. So if a game you really want is only getting a slight discount in October, it will likely get the same discount or an even steeper one later in November.

Handheld Gaming PCs
With the release of the Switch 2 this year and the upcoming Asus Rog Ally X, the world of handheld gaming has really expanded. With so many options flooding the market, it’s inevitable that some models will go on sale during October Prime Day. In fact, we’re already seeing early deals on the Lenovo Legion Go S and the Steam Deck. It seems likely that older Rog Ally handhelds could get some sort of discount next week as well since the new Xbox version is coming out on October 16.

Board Games
If you’re looking fore deals on tabletop games, October Prime Day has been historically very generous with such discounts. Last year we saw a ton of deals on board games, with some of our top picks included in the sale. This included classics like Catan and Azul as well as newer games like the Red Rising board game and Ticket to Ride.
We haven’t seen very many board game deals ahead of the event, but if last year is anything to go by, we can likely expect some of the best discounts of the year again for 2025.
Headphones and Earbuds
Outside of AirPods, you can expect some good deals on various other headphones and earbuds from popular brands. Amazon has already stated in its sneak peek that you’ll be able to save up to 45% on select Bose headphones, which is a good sign that more deals will arrive from brands like Sony and SteelSeries.
In terms of deals available right now, the best discount we could find is on a pair of SteelSeries Arctis Gamebuds, which have dropped to their lowest price ever. These are a solid pick for anyone who uses handheld gaming devices and wants high-quality sound.

A Little Bit of Everything Else
Because it’s a fall sale, there will also be discounts on all of the usual fall things. This includes clothing, home goods, and even some Halloween decorations. Here’s a quick list of what else will go on sale according to Amazon:

Up to 40% off makeup
Up to 40% off skincare and haircare products
Up to 50% off vacuums
Up to 50% off Samsonite luggage
Up to 30% off furniture
Up to 50% off clothing
Up to 45% off Bose headphones and speakers

What Deals Not to Expect
Based on 2025 trends so far, there are a few items you’re most likely not going to find discounts on during October Prime Day. The first major category is gaming consoles. Just recently Microsoft announced yet another price increase on Xbox consoles and other major brands are doing the same as tariffs have ramped up in the U.S. this year. This means you are unlikely to find any deals on the Xbox Series X or PS5 during this sale, and it’s pretty much a given that the Switch 2 won’t go on sale.
It’s pretty much a given that the Switch 2 won’t go on sale.
Outside of the gaming space, you also shouldn’t expect any massive deals on phones during October Prime Day. There will likely be some discounts on Google Pixel phones and some older models from the Samsung Galaxy line, but it’s unlikely those will be the best deals of the year. New iPhones are also very unlikely to go on sale during this time as the iPhone 17 just came out recently and many of the biggest promotions will be saved for Black Friday.

Is It Better to Wait for Black Friday Deals?
Black Friday has consistently been the best time to find deals on just about everything. However, that trend has started to shift in recent years as the actual start date for Black Friday deals has shifted closer and closer to October. If you’re wondering whether or not it’s worth shopping now vs. during the November sales season, it’s become a bit more complicated than just “yes, of course.” Early sales like Prime Big Deal Days will often have discounts that are better than Black Friday, so the trick is knowing what prices are good and what prices are worth waiting on.
Since this is primarily an Amazon sale, the best way to check if a deal is worthy of your attention is by using a price-tracking tool called CamelCamelCamel. This is something our deals team uses all the time to check a discount against a product’s historical price point on Amazon. If the discount you’re looking at is the lowest price of all time (or even in 2025) then you can probably feel confident that you’re getting a good deal. If it looks like Amazon has dropped the price lower in the past, then you should most likely wait for better Black Friday deals before you buy.
